MUZZICYCLES - 2008

Weight: 13 kg

This bike is the most durable, the most flexible and the cheapest. Plastic does not rust, dampens shocks naturally, and its manufacture turns solid waste into a new product.

The invention is the Uruguayan visual artist Juan Muzzi, who lives in Brazil. He has been studying the manufacture of this model for a dozen years, investing with his own money. For the last two years, the final mold has finally been ready. Juan Muzzi announces: "I own the patent for the world's first recycled plastic bike. "

To manufacture it, Mr. Muzzi can count on the work of several NGOs who collect plastic waste and sell it to a company that pellets the material. The pellets are finally sold to Imaplast, a company of moldings belonging to the inventor. The customer can also bring their own recyclable material. During the production process, the granulated plastic enters a machine and is injected into the steel mold. The company manager explains: "Each frame requires two and a half minutes to be manufactured, and if it is made of PET, 200 bottles are used. "
