BAMBOOCLETTE "The First"

Model 1960

Creation of Quasar Khanh, born in Hanoi in Tonkin (French Indochina) in 1934 and died June 30, 2016, is a Vietnamese designer and engineer. He worked mainly in the years 1960-1970 in France.

Creator in several fields, boats, aviation, architecture, car, fashion and furniture, he combines technique, art and fashion in all his works. He invented velvet-covered foam furniture: the "velvet cube" in the 1960s. Quasar Khanh was the first to have the idea of a complete line of inflatable furniture1 in 1968, called Aerospace, in tribute to the conquest from space. This line of furniture will be highly popular, and will be exhibited at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1969 in Paris and at the Triennale in Milan. The inflatable furniture will bring a touch of modernity in the world of decoration. They appear in numerous films such as "Le Cerveau" in 1968 by Gérard Oury with Jean-Paul Belmondo, David Niven and Bourvil, where we can see the furniture around the pool. The inflatable furniture will become one of the most declined concepts in the world.

He also invented the Quasar Unipower car designed in 1968, concept of city car. But it does not end there and continues with the concept of a bamboo bicycle (the bamboo), ecological and resistant plant.

Now an engineer, inventor and designer, it will be difficult to predetermine it in a role.
