HILLMAN - 1879 (Angleterre)
William Hillman, a British engineer born in 1848, first built his reputation in several cycle manufacturing companies in Coventry.

In 1879, the large patented bi by J.Starley and W.Hillman was one of the first constructions with a large front wheel size. To promote the sales of this model, the manufacturers organized a major event, rallying London-Coventry (96miles = 155Km) in one day.
In the same year the term "Bicycle" appeared and replaced all the others.
