André Courrèges 1923/2016, is a French couturier, founder of the house Courrèges. Promoter of the miniskirt and trousers for women, from the early 1960s he created a functional, architectured, symbol of his time, and which will inspire many stylists by its geometric shapes and the omnipresence of white. After practicing at Balenciaga in the 1950s, he founded his house in 1961. If he met success quickly, it was only really in the autumn of 1964 that he knew a global repercussion with his futuristic fashion inspired by the space conquest. Too much copied, he then pauses in his activity and then resumes later to finally create several lines of products. He is nicknamed "Le Corbusier" of fashion.
